  1. Montenegro was declared an ecological state 20th September 1991.
  2. Pope Sixtus V (1520 – 1590), one of the most famous popes, comes from the village Kruševice ( Bay of Kotor).
  3. Montenegro was the first European country to introduce a postal delivery by car 5th July 1903.
  4. “Plantaže” has the largest vineyard in Europe .
  5. The shortest street in Montenegro, and probably the world, is located in Podgorca (Cetinje sreet), thirty meters long and it has only one address.
  6. Kasoronj (Trupa Longicurpa) is a plant that only exists in the Skadar Lake.
  7. Velika (Long) beach is the longest natural sandy beach on the Mediterranean (12 km).
  8. Europe’s richest river in grayling is Ljuca .
  9. Church of St. Ilija on Carine is the highest temple in Europe (about 1800 m above sea level).
  10. Juan Vucetic (Montenegrin expatriate) invented dactyloscopy.
