Rinjak monastery was built on the foundations of an ancient monastery Sv.John Baptist (from the time of Helen of Anjou, wife of King Uros I Nemanjić), archpriest effort Bogić Femić, a former priest of the Bar, and many believers of Bar. The temple is now dedicated to St. Vasilije Ostroški. The complex is named for the monastery in 1994, and 2007 was an appendage of the monastery of Ostrog, and since then an independent monastery.
