Island of Flowers

Ostrvo Cvijeća Prevlaka Island (Also known as Island of Flowers) is an island on the Adriatic Sea, in Montenegrin municipality of Tivat.Prevlaka Island is located near the town of Tivat, in the Bay of Kotor. The island is 300 m long and 200 m wide. It is connected with mainland by a narrow isthmus.The island was the residence of the metropolitan of Zeta’s diocese was from 13th to the 15th century. It was a tourist resort for the military personnel, closed for general public in SFRY. It is today populated with about a hundred people, mainly living in the bungalows.

Stari Ulcinj

Stari Ulcinj

About the island of Stari (Old Ulcinj) is not written much. It’s situated near the coast between Bar and Ulcinj. It was named after the village, of which only ruins remained. At the Venice maps was registered as Dolcigno Vecchio.The ruins of the village consists of  the walls on the western and northwestern part of the island. East and South sides are steep and rocky. There are also remains  of other buildings such as small houses, churches, graves. It can also be found pieces of pottery from ancient history. The island is completely uninhabited, and waits for archaeological and tourist valorization.

Ada Bojana

Ada Bojana (Island Bojana) is an island in the Ulcinj Municipality in Montenegro.
The island is created by river delta of Bojana River. It is an artificial island, the legend says it was formed by gathering river sand around a ship sunk at the mouth of Bojana river, but its more likely to be a delta in formation. It is located on the southernmost tip of Montenegro, only Bojana river separating it from Albanian territory.
The island is of triangular shape, bordered from two sides by Bojana river, and by Adriatic Sea from south-west. It has an area of 4,8 square km.It is a popular tourist destination, with 3 km long sandy beach and many fish restaurants that in a traditional way catch fish. It is also one of the most “official” naturist beaches in the country.

Sveta Neđelja i Katič

Sveta Neđelja is an islet on the Adriatic Sea, in Montenegrin municipality of Budva.
It is located opposite of town of Petrovac. It has a small church of the same name built upon it. Coupled with the other islet, Katič, it makes an attraction for diving enthusiasts.

Sveti Nikola

Sveti Nikola Sveti Nikola Island is an island on the Adriatic Sea, in Montenegrin municipality of Budva.
Sveti Nikola island is located opposite to the town of Budva, 1 km from Budva’s old town. The island is 2 km long, and it has the area of 36 ha. Highest point on the island is a cliff that rises 121 m above the sea.
The island is a popular excurison site in the Budva area. It has three bigger sandy beaches of total length of 840 m, and noumerous small beaches around the island, accessible only by boat.
Deer inhabit the uncultivated part of the island. The island is called Školj by the locals, while the youth refers to it as “Hawaii” island.

Our Lady of Mirište

Gospa od Mirišta

Vavedenje is a small island on the eastern side of the entrance to Kotor Bay, the entrance to the bay Mirište, on the peninsula Lustica. Area of the this island,  also known as the small Island Žanjic is 700 square meters. There is a fortified monastery complex with the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin. In the historical sources is mentioned in the first 1508th as Sv. Maria de Sagnic.  Traces of fresco painting observed in the interior of the church, on the west facade, and on the east side. The original roof covering of stone is replaced with a new one. Monastery complex was renovated 2002. year.
