  1. Skadar Lake is the only remaining habitat of pelicans in Europe.

  1. In some parts the bottom of the Skadarsko lake is bellow sea level.
  2. Ivo Vizin from Prčanj was the sixth (first southslavic) explorer to sail around the world.
  3. Motenegrins are the tallest people in Europe.
  4. The longest and the most beautiful cave in MNE is cave on Djalovića Klisura (12 km).
  5. Tara river is so clean that you can drik water from it.
  6. The Mala rijeka bridge is the highest rail bridge in Europe.
  7. Bečići beach won the award for the most beautiful beach in Europe (1936.)
  8. Out Lady of the Rocks is an artificial island created by bulwark of rocks.
  9. Due to forming of an artificial lake, Monastery Piva was moved to another location.
  10. The fight for the freedom in WW2 started in the small town of Virpazar.

  1. The virgin forest in Biogradska Gora is one of only three in Europe.
  2. Miguel de Cervantes was imprisoned in Ulcinj.
  3. Podgorica is 3rd on the list of the most bombarded cities in WW2.
  4. One of the tighest streets worldwide is in Kotor and it’s called “Let’me pass”.
  5. Visitorsko lake had a floating island, but now it’s only a peninsula.
  6. Bukumir’s triturus (Triturus Montenegrinus) is unique worldwide.
  7. Village Crkvice (Orjen mountin) is the most rainy place in Europe.
  8. Bar has the average of 270 sunny days yearly.
  9. Skadarsko lake is visited by 508 species of bird.
  10. Cave near Risan contains some prehistoric drawings.

  1. The Tara River Canyon is the deepest in Europe ,seconf only to the Grand Canyon worldwide.
  2. St. Tripun’s Cathedral in Kotor, is 69 years older than Notre Dame church in Paris.
  3. On clear mornings you can see Italy from Mt. Lovćen.
  4. Nevidio Canyon is the most impassable canyon in the world.
  5. Bojana river is unique, because it flows both downstream and upstream.
  6. The Minaret of Husein Paša’s Mosque is the highest one in the Region (42 m).
  7. Bay of Kotor is the southenmost fjord in Europe.
  8. The first printing machine with movable letters in the region printed a book in 1494.
  9. Some of the olive trees in Bar are over 2000 years old.
  10. John the Baptist’s right hand an piece of the Holy Cross resides in Cetinje Monastery.
